Colony I at Sea Mountain

A very quiet and relaxing resort. Not too big so not overrun with people. Lovely grounds and views and very close to the turtles on the black sand Beach.

The location is perfect when visiting Southern Hawaii. So close to the black sands beach and the volcano.

If you enjoy a more 'Off the Beaten Path' experience, this is it! We absolutely loved staying here and can't wait to go back. It is so quiet. No cars, no construction, no traffic, just peace. You'll need to bring supplies with you because there isn't anything near by. The best part of this place is its proximity to Punalu'u Black Sand Beach. We swam with turtles and lucked out with seeing baby turtles emerging to make their way into the ocean. It was pretty special. The staff is friendly and the rooms were super clean. This is place is gem!

We stayed for one night as we were passing through after visiting Volcano NP. These condos were cute in an old school kind of way and I'm sure in it's hey day, this place was great. We loved that it was so close to the black sand beach and it is off by itself with nothing close nearby, however it's very quiet and the views are beautiful. Pool was nice and the grounds were well kept. Any staff we interacted with were kind and helpful. The condo itself was showing it's age and probably could have been a little better maintained but was fine for a night. There is a great restaurant about a 15 min drive away called Hana Hou.

We absolutely loved our stay at this oceanfront condo! The location is unbeatable—waking up to the sound of the waves and having those panoramic ocean views right from the balcony was pure bliss. The property is clearly well-maintained; everything felt clean, updated, and well cared for, which made for a very relaxing experience. A note for future guests: we noticed the listing mentioned the lack of air conditioning, and we were initially a little hesitant, but it turned out to be a complete non-issue. The natural cross-breezes were incredible, and the unit stayed nicely and comfortably cool throughout our entire visit. It was truly wonderful to experience the fresh, natural sea air flowing through the unit instead of stale A/C. Highly recommend this perfect, relaxing getaway to anyone seeking peace and amazing views!

We love this place! It is the second time we've stayed here. It is very secluded and quiet. It is a quick walk to the Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, but there really isn't anything commercial here for miles (there are several restaurants about 15 minutes' drive away, a small hospital in the opposite direction 10 minutes away; in that same town the area couple coffee plantations to visit). We bring in all our food, drinks, etc. and just relax here. The condos are individually owned and unique. There are laundry facilities if your unit doesn't have a W/D. Beautiful pool area, grills to BBQ.

We appreciated the secluded location with a lovely view and close to Black Sand Beach. The breeze was lovely and we didn’t feel a need for the air conditioner. However, an older man with a walker regularly smoked weed in the designated smoking zone and the stench wafted into our room from sunrise past sunset every single day of our vacation. We did have a visitor—a flying American cockroach, which my husband smashed with his bare hands. It was creepy, but there was only one. The unit was clean. We made use of the grill twice and the washer and dryer twice. We have no complaints about any aspect of the accommodation. In addition, the gentleman who checked us in was pleasant.

Great place if you want quiet remote vacation. Close to the black sand beach. Freindly to kids.
